Commemorating the 120th anniversary of Giuseppe Verdi’s death, hear his Requiem at St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna!
Verdi composed his "Messa da Requiem", his most important work outside his immense operatic oeuvre, on the first anniversary of his friend’s death. As a master of his profession, Verdi knew how to express the humility in the face of death and the hope for redemption in a splendid manner.
Under the direction of Gerald Wirth, President and Artistic Director of the Vienna Boys' Choir, this masterpiece was intensively studied on by choir singers from all over the world in several workshops during the Sing Along! Choir Festival. The crowning finale is the performance with renowned soloists and the Vienna Cathedral Orchestra in St. Stephen's Cathedral.
