PreviousApril 2022

Whether he demonstrates his great virtuosity and musicality with his lion's head cello in baroque music and classical-romantic literature or grooves and rocks with his own compositions - Matthias Bartolomey has firmly established himself as one of the most versatile cellists of his generation and has made a name for himself far beyond the borders of Austria.

Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations, one of the composer's most popular pieces along with the Piano and Violin Concertos, sparkles with dance-like joie de vivre and combines brilliant virtuosity with lilting cantilenas. With 'Change' by Florian Willeitner, Matthias Bartolomey and SIGNUM Sax present a brand new work full of groove, jazz and rock influences.
