The grand vizier of Viennese electronics presents his new and long-awaited album “The Moon and the Orient” in his trusted jazz club.
Normally you put Waldeck (see above) in the electronic drawer. Even recently, on the occasion of the presentation of his new project "The Waldeck Sextett", they had to refrain from doing that and take him out of it. It all started with an analog recording session in Vienna's Supersense... And even though that's what you would expect for a record recording in the analog palace Usually doesn't have to do that, Waldeck, apparently completely enthusiastic about this analogue adventure, immediately created his own project out of the ground among the spring flowers: "The Waldeck Sextet". The result should awaken one or two French reminiscences, such as Charles Aznavour or 60s films such as "Elevator to the Scaffold" with Jeanne Moreau. It had to be something with French, and for once completely without electronics - what a Waldeck sounds like and what exactly came out of it could not only be heard at the first official (and completely sold out) concert at Porgy & Bess on January 25th, 2020 , but also scratched with diamonds into record acetate for an exclusive record edition. Waldeck has now refined his program and - as the title of the program suggests - is devoting himself to the magic of the Orient. At his side is the versatile singer Patrizia Ferrara. (press release)

PORGY & BESS Jazzclub
Porgy & Bess (actually, Jazz and Music Club Porgy & Bess ) is a jazz club in the Riemergasse 11 in the 1st district of Vienna. The club , founded in 1993 is considered " the most important jazz organizer and trendy meeting point " of the Austrian capital .
The program of Porgy & Bess speaks to a very large audience , about 70,000 guests a year ; is accordingly Jazz " understood very pluralistic ," and the program " even in fringe areas , such as electronic music , contemporary music and world music penetrated .
