Antonio Faraò is a pianist of uncommon skill. With a career that extends over 35 years, he has realized his potential and established himself as one of the most respected jazz pianists in the International scene. Faraò’s style is unique: flawless technical proficiency, unbridled creativity, exhilarating vitality, and remarkable rhythmic skills.

 

Born in Rome in 1965, he comes from a family with deep musical roots. His solo career has been full of successes since the beginning, such as the victory obtained during the Martial Solal International First Price in Paris in 1998. Thanks to his undoubted artistic talents, he entered into particularly significant collaborations alongside an impressive list of world-famous musicians, including: Jack DeJohnette, Chris Potter, Daniel Humair, Gary Bartz, Lee Konitz, Steve Grossman, Billy Cobham, Mike Clark, Bireli Lagrène, Dennis Chambers, Claudio Fasoli, André Ceccarelli, Ivan Lins, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Ira Coleman, Benny Golson, Von Freeman, Chico Freeman, Miroslav Vitous, John Abercrombie, and many more.

 

His last album “Eklektik” with Warner Music features an incredible cast of musicians: Snoop Dogg, Krayzie Bone, Marcus Miller, Bireli Lagrène, and Lenny White to name a few. From 2023 he is involved in the “McCoy Tyner Legends” project, where he pays a tribute to one of the greatest jazz pianists of all times: McCoy Tyner. and shares the stage with world-class jazz musicians such as Chico Freeman on tenor sax, Steve Turre on trombone, Avery Sharpe on double bass and Ronnie Burrage on drums.

 

In 2024 Antonio will release with Criss Cross Records his new album in trio with John Patitucci on bass and Jeff Ballard on drums.

PORGY and BESS Jazzclub
