HISTORIA
Historia is a theatrical format that, through storytelling, live music, and dance, tackles highly relevant themes such as the emigrant's nostalgia, the search for one's identity, gender equality, the dignity of women, and talent and passion as tools of emancipation and survival. It tells the story of a young woman from Southern Italy who, in order to follow her love, embarks on an oceanic journey to a land she does not know, drawn by the mirage of a better life.

She finds herself alone in the male-dominated reality of 1930s Buenos Aires, where men meet after work in disreputable places and, while waiting to engage with a woman, tell stories of life accompanied by musical instruments. A rhythm is born, a motif, which will become the foundation of the story: Tango. Stefania, the protagonist and narrator of Historia, sheds her feminine clothes and dresses as the man Esteban: only then can she access those places forbidden to women and play the music that has seduced her, music that blares in the streets during the day and in the milongas at night but is forbidden to women in both singing and instrumental performance.

The disguise allows her to freely express her talent, but at the same time, it strips her of her identity, creating an intimate and iconic dualism that characterizes her story and every story of redemption. Tango as a form of narration, musical style, dance, and improvisation in the show. Dance as a metaphor for love: a couple meets, moves, following the music without knowing where the steps will take them.

Music as individual expression and recognition of romantic affinities beyond gender. Improvisation is another element that, in the creation of the show by M° Daniele Bocchini, connects Tango in its origins with Jazz, and which finds its driving force in the stylistic provocation introduced in the 1960s by Astor Piazzolla with Tango Nuevo. In the show, Stefania Caracciolo (singer) and Veera Kinnunen (dancer) alternate in the role of Esteban and, through singing, dancing, and stage presence, lead the audience through a story full of pathos and erotic emotion.

Historia brings to the stage, in a vintage milonga, the choreography of dance masters Samuel Peron and Veera Kinnunen, the extraordinary voice of Stefania Caracciolo, and live music from five professional musicians:
Daniele Bocchini (trombone),
Marco Postacchini (saxophone, flute, arrangements),
Enzo Proietti (piano, accordion),
Graziano Brufani (double bass),
Leonardo Ramadori (percussion).
