Masumi Ormandy 'My Way' (J)

"Young at heart" could be the credo of the Japanese artist Masumi Ormandy.

Time seems to leave little trace on the appearance of the jazz singer. The secret of this now 85(!)-year-old lies in her pure zest for life and her passion for singing. Her nickname "Lady Sunshine" could not be more fitting. With her dynamic performances of jazz standards and selected pop songs like "Misty" or "As Time Goes By," she delights an international audience with performances in Europe and the USA. Masumi Ormandy sings in various languages; a "Besame mucho" sounds just as authentic as a wonderfully intonated "Come prima." Her captivating voice has also been heard several times in Austria in recent years. Additionally, she collaborated on a joint project with the Slovak jazz great Peter Lipa, with whom she performed in duet. (Press text)
