Myriam Gendron
For years, Myriam Gendron, who lives in Montreal, sang in subway stations. When she discovered the poems of author Dorothy Parker in her day job at a bookstore, she immediately wanted to record her own compositions. Her deep love for traditional folk, as well as her joy in avant-garde music, is evident in her work. Her current album "Mayday" is a masterpiece.

Dan Croll
When British singer-songwriter Dan Croll released his first songs, the press was ecstatic. The Guardian described his music as "a mix of Paul Simon and Prince." A global hit was the song "From Nowhere," which was also featured in a shoe company advertisement. Sometimes, Croll's music is categorized as "Indietronica" due to the carefully used electronic sound embellishments. The multi-instrumentalist largely recorded his songs for his studio albums by himself.

Kids With Buns
Belgian musicians Marie Van Uytvanck and Amber Piddington met each other at Antwerp Pride. Their songs often revolve around the struggle of growing up in an still homophobic world. Particularly, Marie's deep, androgynous voice makes the songs unique. In their home country, the duo is something of a cult phenomenon. This November, they will perform in Austria for the first time.

Edna Million
"Anywhere is everywhere," sings Vienna's Edna Million, and "I made something out of nothing - like a song I sang for you." The young singer, with her deep, contemplative voice, is unlike anyone else. Edna Million conjures up wondrous soundscapes and atmospheric spaces with concise words, something that very few musicians can achieve.
