L’ULTIMA NOTTE ROSA – THE FINAL TOUR

Umberto Tozzi's worldwide tour begins with a brilliant start at the Caracalla Thermal Baths in Rome and on the Piazza San Marco in Venice, which will also mark his farewell to the live stage. After 50 years of a successful career far beyond the borders of his Italian homeland, with more than 80 million albums sold and over 2,000 live concerts performed, the exceptional artist is now bidding farewell to the boards that mean the world.

The charismatic and creative singer and songwriter Umberto Tozzi has - thanks to his evergreens - become a cult figure for generations and a true icon of Italian music. In 1968, aged just 16, he started out as a guitarist in the Turin rock group Off Sound and then went on a nationwide tour with Adriano Pappalardo. In 1974, at the age of 22, Umberto Tozzi began writing songs for other artists. In collaboration with Damiano Dattoli, he wrote the song "Un corpo un'anima" in the same year, which - performed by Wess and Dori Ghezzi - immediately won the TV music show "Canzonissima". After this success as a songwriter, Tozzi finally began to sing his own songs.

His big breakthrough came at the end of the 1970s with a veritable hat-trick of hits: in 1977 he landed an international bestseller with "Ti amo", followed by "Tu" in 1978 and the no less successful "Gloria" in 1979. In 1982, Tozzi won a Golden Globe and was nominated for a Grammy. He also won the prestigious Italian Sanremo Festival and represented his home country at the 1987 Eurovision Song Contest with "Gente di Mare", where he came third.

Today, it is impossible to imagine the music world without Umberto Tozzi's hits. Everyone knows the unforgettable "Ti Amo", which has been covered countless times and has broken all chart records. Or the global success "Gloria", which was chosen as the soundtrack for Martin Scorsese's "Wolf of Wallstreet" and Ariand Lyne's "Flashdance" as well as for countless other films and series.

Now it's time to say goodbye to one of the great musicians of our time. You can do so in Vienna on February 24, 2025 at the Wiener Stadthalle, where Umberto Tozzi will play his last live performance in the German-speaking world with his band and orchestra before wistfully saying "Arrivederci"!
