Auri, A Trail Of Candles and Beginnings

In the fleeting moments between the waking state and entering the gates of the dream world lies a borderland from which the atmospheric music of ancient tales emerges—the celestial interplay of three creative souls known as AURI.

Originally born in 2011 from the special union of Johanna Kurkela, Tuomas Holopainen, and Troy Donockley, AURI was first introduced to the world in 2018. Now augmented by the dynamic percussion talents of Kai Hahto, the trio creates fantastical worlds that are entirely their own.

Consisting of Tuomas' keyboards and endless imagination, Troy's arsenal of flutes and other folk instruments and his magical touch, and Kurkela's youthful and tender voice full of childlike wonder—fragile and gossamer, yet powerful and moving beyond words—the flow of AURI's heavenly, uplifting mood music captures the listener from the very first notes and never lets go.
