A young family is shipwrecked and, shortly after reaching the African coast, is attacked by wild animals. The only survivor is a small boy, who is left orphaned and taken in by the ape mother Kala, who raises him as her own child. Although Tarzan finds a home among the apes and a close friend in the young ape girl Tee, the leader Kerchak never lets him forget that he is different. His search for his place in the world intensifies when he encounters humans for the first time. Professor Porter, his curious daughter Jane, and the dubious Olivia Clayton are on an expedition to explore the jungle. As time passes, Tarzan and Jane grow closer—but when events take a dramatic turn, Tarzan and his ape family find themselves in grave danger…
