THE NUTCRACKER – Russian Classical Ballet | Dance

Ballet in two acts
Music: Pëtr Il'ič Čajkovskij
Choreography: Marius Petipa
Organization: Antico Teatro Pagliano

The magnificent classical ballet will be performed by the acclaimed and prestigious company, composed of a cast of stars of Russian ballet, under the artistic direction of Evgeniya Bespalova and Denis Karakashev. Since its founding in 2005, the Russian Classical Ballet has aimed to preserve the full tradition of Russian classical ballet. The company consists of dancers trained at the most prestigious choreographic schools in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, and Perm. The corps de ballet and soloists come from the main Russian classical dance companies, creating an ensemble where academic training and international experience combine with the boldness of emerging talents in the Moscow classical dance scene.

Based on E.T.A. Hoffmann’s fairy tale The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, the ballet tells the story of a girl who dreams of a prince. It is a story that sparks the imagination in all of us, transporting the audience into a realm of fantasy. A performance to be enjoyed with the whole family. Tchaikovsky’s musical composition has immortalized his genius, highlighted in melodic passages such as the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Waltz of the Flowers. In a fierce battle against the Mouse King, the Nutcracker is in danger. Clara, overcoming her own fears, enters the battle and throws her slipper, defeating the terrible creature and breaking the spell; the Nutcracker transforms into a handsome Prince. A cold night covers the town with snowflakes. The Nutcracker takes Clara to his kingdom, the Land of Sweets, where the Sugar Plum Fairy shares joy with all children who, like Clara, can still dream.
