Forever yung – this (tour) motto is the motto of exceptional Swedish star Yung Lean. Born Jonatan Aron Leandoer Håstad in Stockholm, the musician has persevered for over a decade – despite personal challenges and setbacks. His music combines elements of cloud rap, trap, and lo-fi and is characterized by its atmospheric production, combined with his distinctive and emotive voice.
In 2013, as a teenager wearing a bucket hat, he went viral with his song "Ginseng Strip 2002." Since then, the musician has used this creative energy to establish a successful career, global trends, and a loyal fan base. Vice magazine called him "the craziest 16-year-old Swedish rapper you've ever heard." But that's not all: With the very same song "Ginseng Strip 2002," which appeared on his first EP "Lavender," he also achieved a viral TikTok trend in 2022!
His debut album "Unknown Memory" (2014) and its follow-up "Warlord" (2016) cemented his position in the genre. He achieved further success with his mixtape "Stardust" (2022): Masters such as FKA Twigs and Skrillex (co-)impressed the record. "Stardust" is proof that Yung Lean's artistic drive remains unwavering even in times of viral success. His follow-up album "Psykos" also delighted fans in 2024.
Now he's following up with his new single "Forever Yung," the precursor to his fifth album "Jonatan" (a reference to his real first name) – but things are also happening on screen: He stars alongside Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Evans, and Charli XCX in the star-studded movie "Sacrifice" (release date TBD).
Yung Lean will definitely take the lead role at his first Austrian show in eleven (!) years: on November 10, 2025, at the Vienna Gasometer. We promise: It'll be loud, wild, and simply Yung Lean!
