Catania Chamber Orchestra – Bellini and Vivaldi’s Four Seasons is a concert with a string ensemble and clavicembalo.  It will perform on Wednesday and Friday at 8.30 PM

The Catania Chamber Orchestra specializes in the revival of the Italian lyrical tradition. Formed by orchestra professors graduated from the most prestigious Sicilian conservatories and the most promising young people of Catania distinguished in the main opera and symphonic awards at national and international level, The Catania Chamber Orchestra offers in this Musical Season an interesting series of opera concerts for small orchestral ensembles and voices.

The concerts are inspired by the work of the main composer from Catania, Vincenzo Bellini, and then transport the spectator in the context of the opera production of the late 800 and early 900 in which the composer from Catania found himself working. From Mascagni to Verdi, from Rossini to Puccini passing through Donizetti, Bizet etc… in an unforgettable journey through opera.

The concerts will be hosted in the prestigious and monumental Church of the Badia di Sant’Agata, erected next to the Cathedral where Maestro Bellini rests. The Badia di Sant’Agata, in addition to its precious and perfectly preserved interiors, is distinguished by a panoramic terrace which is accessed by an internal lift and from which you can enjoy a unique view of the wonderful city of Catania.
