80 YEARS OF GEORG DANZER
DANZERMANIA PICKS UP SPEED

Since 2008, friends and companions of the much-too-early departed composer and writer Georg Danzer — unquestionably one of the greatest song poets our country has produced — have celebrated the beloved artist’s birthday each year.

Under the title Danke Danzer, and since 2016 also under the title DanzerMania, concerts have taken place every October in Vienna. At these events, Danzer’s band musicians
Ulli Bäer, Lenny Dickson, Thomas Mora and Martin Mader, together with Andy Baum, Matthias Kempf, co-initiator Christian Becker, and numerous well-known figures from Austria’s music and cabaret scene, celebrate Danzer’s countless songs.

The band with the performers mentioned above, supported by the powerful voices and sharp wit of Tini Kainrath and Eva Maria Marold, as well as additional guests who will vary from place to place but will join with heart and joy (details to follow), will celebrate Danzer’s great successes along with special favorites and moments from his life on stages across Austria, ensuring unforgettable evenings together with the audience.

The anniversary honoree’s manager and friend, Blacky Schwarz, supports this gathering of friends on and off stage with humorous words and with the spirit shaped through his many years of collaboration with Georg Danzer.

Now, for the milestone birthday in 2026 and in honor of a musician known and loved for his social commitment and integrity — someone who, especially in turbulent times like these, would surely be looking down with a warning wave from a cloud — the DanzerMania troupe has decided to travel the country and not limit celebrations to the federal capital.

And so we proclaim it here: The Danzer Year 2026!
