After the success of the summer tour and of the large open-air events, Davide Van De Sfroos returns to theatres with a new and ambitious project: Davide Van De Sfroos & Folkestra 2026, his first tour with a small orchestra that will join some of his historic musicians to give a new look to the ballads, stories and emotions of his repertoire.
The Davide Van De Sfroos & Folkestra 2026 tour will be a musical journey that will cross the most beautiful theatres in Northern Italy (and beyond), in a more intimate but at the same time orchestral dimension, where folk and symphony meet, keeping Davide’s authentic and poetic soul intact.
“This tour is a way to rediscover my songs in a different light – says Van De Sfroos – with new colours, new breaths. The Folkestra brings with it the energy and depth of the collective sound, but remains faithful to the spirit of the stories we have always told together with the public.”

Davide Van De Sfroos is the most important exponent of the new Italian folk-rock, a milestone achieved with more than twenty years of packed concerts and a handful of records completely outside any commercial logic that have sold a total of 350 thousand copies. His music draws from the local tradition, mixing it with Celtic, country, reggae and, of course, rock suggestions.
His lyrics mix the national language with a very particular dialect, that of the Tremezzina, a suggestive glimpse of Lake Como, the theatre where his characters, who have now entered the collective imagination, move. A long journey inaugurated by Manicomi, a legendary album made with the De Sfroos back in 1995. As a solo artist Davide Bernasconi, this is his real name, has published Brèva & Tivàn, the mini Per una poma, ...e semm partii, the live double Laiv, Akuaduulza, Pica!, which reached number four in the charts, and the huge success Yanez, dragged along by the exhilarating performance at the Sanremo Festival that saw Van De Sfoos come close to the podium with an unexpected fourth place. He has published two books for Bompiani, a collection of poetry, is been artistic director of numerous events always favouring the relationship between music and the dialects of the Italian regions, collaborating with the most varied artists. In 2013, he developed the multimedia project Terra&Acqua, a television format featuring him as an original guide of the Larian lands, which also developed into a widely distributed publication and an Internet site dedicated to culture and traditions.
The latest album Van De Best, a collection he compiled to celebrate his 25-year solo career, contains 49 great hits published from 1999 to 2015 and re-recorded to make them available to the public once again.
