Joshua Bell
Violin recital
A Musical Treat
Having made such an impact with his 2023 debut with the Franz Schubert Filharmonia, Joshua Bell makes a much-anticipated return. In an exclusive recital for our audience he’ll perform a selection of the violin sonatas that have meant most to him over the years.
This will be a marvellous opportunity to enjoy the genius of this violinist in the intimate surroundings of the Palau de la Música, where a combination of proximity to the artist and the hall’s unique atmosphere will make each note an unforgettable experience – a fantastic treat for all music lovers!
The Return of Joshua Bell
Joshua Bell is another artist who was keen to be part of our 20th-anniversary celebrations. One of the finest violinists in the world, he appeared with Riccardo Muti at the age of 14 and made his Carnegie Hall debut at 17. He won a GRAMMY® Award for his recording of Nicholas Maw’s Violin Concerto and has been nominated no fewer than six times in all, while his performance on on the soundtrack of The Red Violin resulted in an Oscar for Best Original Score. Bell has played his Stradivarius with leading orchestras in the world’s most prestigious venues and, since 2011, has been Music Director of the celebrated Academy of St Martin in the Fields. Chamber music has been a lifelong love, and on his return visit he will perform some of his favourite sonatas for violin and piano.
