A world full of romance and sin

Paris 1899: In the legendary Moulin Rouge nightclub, bohemians and royals celebrate extravagant parties together. Here, boundaries blur and champagne corks pop.

Moulin Rouge! The musical brings this world of romance and sin to life. A spectacular set is created at the Theater am Großmarkt , transforming it into a nightclub, theater, and dance hall all in one. The perfect backdrop for the love story of Christian and Satine, made famous by Baz Luhrmann's Oscar-winning film from 2001.

Can the Moulin Rouge be saved?

A young writer falls in love with the star of the legendary Moulin Rouge nightclub. But Christian and Satine's love is tragically tested when the influential Duke of Monroth wants to take over the financially struggling Moulin Rouge. He wants not only the club for himself, but also its "Sparkling Diamond": Satine.

Over 160 years of pop history

From Offenbach to Lady Gaga: Moulin Rouge! The musical celebrates over 160 years of pop music history with 75 songs by 165 composers. The musical includes many of the legendary songs from the film, including “Lady Marmalade”, “Roxanne”, “Your Song”, and “Come What May”, composed specifically for the film.

At the same time, the soundtrack features new songs from international pop stars such as Adele, Katy Perry, Rihanna, and Beyoncé. All the songs were remixed and combined specifically for the musical to create a unique Moulin Rouge sound.

Since its world premiere in 2018, Moulin Rouge! The Musical has thrilled over 12 million audience members worldwide. The production has been performed in cities including New York, London, Cologne, and Melbourne.
