Sensation on the Danube Island: Roxette celebrate their Austrian comeback with the "Live - Back Again Tour"

On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, Roxette will return to an Austrian stage for the first time in eleven years as part of the Donauinsel Open Air. Under the motto "Live - Back Again", Per Gessle and his band will celebrate an emotional comeback and set a special highlight in the festival program on Vienna's Danube Island with this sensational concert.

With over 80 million records sold, Roxette are one of the most successful pop bands in music history and are regarded as the biggest Swedish hit machine since ABBA. Following the tragic death of Marie Fredriksson in 2019, Per Gessle is now venturing a cautious and respectful new beginning: together with the renowned Swedish singer Lena Philipsson, he is bringing the timeless Roxette hits back to the stage.

The audience can expect an emotional journey through four decades of pop history - with immortal classics such as "The Look", "Joyride", "It Must Have Been Love" and "Listen to Your Heart", newly arranged and powerfully interpreted.

"It was a big step to bring Roxette back on stage and have someone else sing the songs. Marie will always be irreplaceable. But I am very happy to have found such a fantastic voice and brilliant performer in Lena Philipsson," says Per Gessle.
