Stoned Jesus and Wheel are touring together next year – on April 19, they will also stop in Austria!
STONED JESUS was founded in 2009 by Igor Sydorenko in Kyiv and quickly grew beyond its cheeky name. The Ukrainian trio’s second album, Seven Thunders Roar, combined doom, prog, and grunge in their own unique way. The centerpiece of the album, the 13-minute title track I’m the Mountain, has already amassed 15 million views on YouTube alone. STONED JESUS’ next album, The Harvest, sounded like a mix of MASTODON, PORCUPINE TREE, and SOUNDGARDEN. Their charismatic live shows and relentless touring schedule helped triple their fanbase within a few months.
Since their formation in 2015, Wheel have quickly evolved from underdogs in Helsinki, Finland, into an international act. The trio’s edgy riffs, memorable melodies, and experimental approach on their 2019 debut album Moving Backwards were immediately embraced by fans of megastars like Tool and Coheed & Cambria. Their 2021 follow-up Resident Human received glowing reviews worldwide, praising its sonic evolution and bold dystopian themes.
Charismatic Leaders was carefully crafted to meet Wheel’s ever-higher standards. Wheel have already toured the world with prog-metal icons like Leprous, Vola, and Soen, and it’s easy to imagine that the irresistible hook of Disciple or the explosive guitars of Submission will only heighten the excitement of their shows.
