Since 2010, "The Phantom of the Opera" by the writing team Deborah Sasson and Jochen Sautter has been captivating audiences on the stages of Europe. The production was awarded the Golden Sun 2023 as best musical for the quality of the performers, the music and the stage design. The touring production with Deborah Sasson and Uwe Kröger returns to Austria in 2025. Audiences and the press are celebrating the interplay between the singer and Germany's number one musical star, who will once again slip into the role of the Phantom.

The forced break during the corona pandemic was used creatively to completely revamp the production musically. The successful British musician Ryan Martin, who has composed and arranged music for Cirque du Soleil, America's Got Talent, Netflix, BBC, ABC, CBS and Fox USA, among others, was recruited for this. The stage design is brought to life by the effective, three-dimensional video projections by multimedia artist Daniel Stryjecki as well as the stage elements, built by Michael Scott of the Metropolitan Opera in New York.

This new production, which was created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Gaston Leroux's 1910 novel "Le Fantôme de l'Opéra", is one of the most successful touring musicals in Europe. The production sets itself apart from all previous musical interpretations of the literary material by sticking closer to the original novel and incorporating well-known opera quotations in parts of the music composed by Sasson.

The role of Christine is interpreted by the internationally acclaimed Boston soprano and Echo Klassik prizewinner Deborah Sasson. Her multi-faceted and powerful voice is perfect for this mixture of opera and musical. The Phantom is played by Uwe Kroeger, who has captured the hearts of audiences since his breakthrough role as Death in the world premiere of Elisabeth. He has played the leading roles in the world premieres of Rebecca, Mozart, The Visit of the Old Lady, Heidi and in the German-language premieres of Sunset Boulevard, Miss Saigon, Doctor Dolittle, The Addams Family and Napoleon in London's West End. Now, in this production, he slips into the role of the Phantom, feared by the world and torn apart inside.

A large ensemble of selected singers, dancers and actors from German-speaking countries also take part.
