There are spaces that are more than just architecture. The Max Joseph Hall in the Munich Residenz is such a place. When candles speak their flickering language beside the magnificent chandeliers, the hall seems to breathe – quietly, expectantly, almost reverently.
The evening begins with a dramatic serve: The Overture to "Don Giovanni" Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "A Greeting" is not a courtly greeting, but a promise. Dark chords open the space, then life bursts in – bright, impetuous, irresistible.

With the "Prague" Symphony The same composer reveals a different side of himself: expansive breath control, sonic transparency, an almost architectural sense of proportion. Here, music becomes a structure – clearly organized, yet full of inner movement.
A touch of Italian longing: The Overture to "La Traviata" “by Giuseppe Verdi” begins like a memory – delicate, almost fragile. But beneath the surface, the drama is already simmering. Verdi understands, like few others, how to elevate the personal to the grand, the whisper to the fateful.

Then, as the highlight Ludwig van Beethoven . His Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61 It begins almost floating, as if the sound cautiously feels its way into the light. Exceptional violinist Simon Zhu He plays the part with intensity, he doesn't tell an episode, but an inner journey – from tenderness to grandeur, from lyrical intimacy to radiant expansiveness.
The soloist Simon Zhu won the highly coveted 1st prize at the Premio de Paganini in Genoa 2023 and was subsequently invited to London by King Charles.

Munich Residence

The Munich Residence served as the seat of government and residence of the Bavarian dukes, electors and kings from 1508 to 1918. What began in 1385 as a castle in the north-eastern corner of the city (the Neuveste, or new citadel), was transformed by the rulers over the centuries into a magnificent palace, its buildings and gardens extending further and further into the town.

The rooms and art collections spanning a period that begins with the Renaissance, and extends via the early Baroque and Rococo epochs to Neoclassicism, bear witness to the discriminating taste and the political ambition of the Wittelsbach dynasty.
