At just 20 years old, and already crowned with the first prize at the Van Cliburn International Competition, South Korean pianist Yunchan Lim embodies the new generation of pianists, creating subtle resonances between repertoires, aesthetics, and composers.

As the youngest laureate ever honored by this famous American piano competition, Yunchan Lim was suddenly thrust onto the international stage at the age of 18. Already recognized in his home country, where he studies at the Seoul Arts Center Music Academy and is currently continuing with Minsoo Sohn at the Korean National University of Arts, he shines in the ears of Marin Alsop with "a profound musicality and [a] prodigious technique."
