Synopsis/Details

Piano Soirée with Master Pianists

The one-hour Mozart concerts every Thursday at 4:30 pm, featuring piano repertoire from Mozart to Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, Ravel, Debussy, and others, are a tribute to the young Mozart. Seven-year-old Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his sister Nannerl performed here before the Elector with great success, and the fairy-tale king Ludwig II spent his childhood here. Selected master pianists perform the pure piano concertos in the Johannis Hall of Nymphenburg Palace.

Cast

Classical masterpieces from Mozart to Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy and Ravel.

This concert series serves as a tribute to Mozart, who gave a concert with his sister Nannerl in Nymphenburg Palace with Elector Maximilian III when he was seven years old and this went down in history.

Venue
Nymphenburg Palace

The Nymphenburg Palace (German: Schloss Nymphenburg, Palace of the Nymphs) is a Baroque palace situated in Munich's western district Neuhausen-Nymphenburg, in Bavaria, southern Germany. Combined with the adjacent Nymphenburg Palace Park it constitutes one of the premier royal palaces of Europe. Its frontal width of 632 m (2,073 ft) (north-south axis) even surpasses Versailles Palace. The Nymphenburg served as the main summer residence for the former rulers of Bavaria of the House of Wittelsbach.
