40 Years After the Hit Album “Break Every Rule”: The Acclaimed Tribute Show Starring Coco Fletcher Shines a Light on Tina Turner’s Legacy Once Again
Simply The Best – The Tina Turner Story is a captivating musical show that honors the life and legacy of music icon Tina Turner. The occasion marks the 40th anniversary of her 1986 hit album Break Every Rule, which sold over twelve million copies worldwide and earned her a spot in the Guinness Book of Records for her legendary performance in front of 180,000 fans in Rio de Janeiro. The show takes audiences on a musical journey through five decades, reliving Turner’s career—from her early days with Ike Turner to her solo breakthrough—with timeless hits like “Private Dancer”, “Goldeneye”, and “Simply The Best”.
At the center of the production is Dorothea “Coco” Fletcher, widely regarded as the world’s best Tina Turner impersonator. Her remarkable vocal and physical resemblance to the music legend even led to a legal dispute, in which Turner herself admitted that Fletcher looked “too much like her.” Born in Alabama, Coco began her career in Las Vegas, performing alongside soul greats such as The Platters and Bobby Womack. In Germany, she gained recognition through performances with Udo Jürgens, appearances on Let’s Dance, and at the Montreux Jazz Festival. With her energetic stage presence and powerful live band, she never fails to wow the audience.
The production was honored in 2020 in Las Vegas as the Best Musical Tribute Show and has already thrilled hundreds of thousands of fans. Starting in 2026, it will once again go on a major tour through Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
